The 2023 Rugby World Cup is the 10th world championship for the best international men’s rugby union teams. The tournament is played every four years. France is the host this year, with 20 nations competing over six weeks, from September 8 to October 28.

South Africa is the current defending champions.

The participating nations are divided into four pools, with the winner and runner-up from each pool entering the knockout stage, which consists of quarter- and semi-finals, and then the final.

At the time of writing, the semi-finals have just been played where Argentina lost to New Zealand, 44 to 6, and the second semi-final saw South Africa defeat England by only one point, finishing the game 16 to 15.

The bronze final will be played on Saturday October 28, with Argentina and England playing against one another for second place.

The final will take place at the Stade de France, north of Paris, which has a capacity of 80,698 seats, on Sunday October 29 for those watching from Australia. New Zealand and South Africa will be competing for this year’s title.

Rugby-mad Aussies can still continue watching the games despite the Wallabies no longer in the running. Every game on the schedule is being shown live and ad-free on Nine-owned paid streaming service Stan Sport, while all Australian national team games as well as the final are also available live and free on Channel 9 as well as the 9Now streaming service.

The 2023 World Cup Final will be played on Saturday, October 28 at the Stade de France near Paris, starting 9pm local time, which would be 6am AEDT on Sunday, October 29.
